Seminole Heights is famous for its historic craftsman style bungalows from the early 20th century. Many buildings in the neighborhood existed in the early 1900s, such as the Seminole Heights Methodist Church, Seminole Heights Elementary School, Broward Elementary, Hillsborough High School, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Seminole Heights Garden Center, a neighborhood park, is utilized for community events including art festivals and picnics. Seminole Heights features the longest stretch of Riverfront parkland within the city of Tampa. Rivercrest, Epps, and several other pocket parks provide accessibility to the Hillsborough River.
Recently Seminole Heights has experienced rising property values and a reduction in crime. The area is preferred by young professionals along with their families that are wanting a solution to master planned communities. The area contains two designated historical districts including Seminole Heights (local and national designation), Hampton Terrace (national designation).

And in the last few years, the district has become known as being a dining destination. Notable restaurant/ bars have the two-time James Beard Award nominee The Refinery, the Independent Bar & Cafe’, and Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe.
In July 2017, the South Seminole Heights Civic Association accomplished the objective of bringing Tampa’s very first street mural to Seminole Heights. The design selected by local residents was designed by Tampa Bay Artist Catherine Thomas and it was painted by volunteers in the neighborhood. The mural can be found by Rivercrest Park at the corner of North River Blvd and West Louisiana Ave in South Seminole Heights.
